I am currently using PanaCIM built-in driver to communicate with machine, my driver version is 11.0.3-202409201. When machine send a PanaCIM request to ConnectIoT, I need to build the PanaCIM message to reply, to be more specific, the PanaCIM 500 and PanaCIM 510 reply. But when I construct the message body, it will always contain the $id in the XML attribute and causing the parse of XML on machine failed:

I believe this is because we need to represent the XML in specific JSON format, and feed it into PanaCIM driver, but the JSON will add an “$id” in every object automatically by the driver, cause the JSON-to-XML parser to include the “$id” field in the XML. But special characters are not allowed in the XML property name. So, this extra property will cause the XML parser on machine side to fail.

To solve this, I have tried:

- Using PanaCIM task (Send PanaCIM reply task) to construct the reply message.
- Using driver definition and Core task (Send equipment command task) to send the reply message.
- Using SendRaw method to send command to PanaCIM driver, in order to send the PanaCIM reply.

No matter what method I use, if I send an object type input to the driver, the “$id” property will show up, I suspect that the driver will convert the input object into a Cmf object (which will have the $id property) and don’t have the proper filter for it, causing the $id to show up in the XML body.

This is the logs for controller and driver:

Hi Mike,

The dollar character ($) doesn’t require special encoding in XML documents, so it should be accepted by the machine without any issue.

If you’re encountering a problem with it, this often points to a more specific configuration or processing detail. Since getting to the bottom of that requires a bit more in-depth knowledge than we can quickly provide here, I recommend opening a support request. Our team can then investigate thoroughly and give you the precise assistance you need.

Best regards,

João Moreira
