Grading Material Unit Change as configured in Sub Product

Hi Team,

we have one product with default unit ( Let Say ‘KG’). It has binning sub product2 with default unit ( Let say "EA). after this, we did main product material grading and it si creating one material for Sub product but it is taking Unit from main material as KG. we were expecting it will take its product Unit as EA.

How we can achieve this?

There isn’t a direct Solution Out of the Box to achieve that, but a simple rule can do it.

SETUP (All OOB):

1st: Don’t set the Unit in the Step(s)

2nd: Product 1 has unit “Kg” and Product 2 has unit “EA”. In the Generic Table “ProductUnitConversionFactor”, Define the Unit Conversion Factor for the Products. From Unit “KG” to Unit “EA”

3rd: Setup the Sub-Product (Product 1 can change to Product 2) and the Binning. In the Step set the option “Allow Auto Split by Product”

Execution:

  • Process a Material from Product 1

  • At Track-out perform a binning e change some unit to Product 2

  • At this point you still have the two materials with unit Kg. Material from product 1 with X Kg and Material From Product 2 with W Kg (And not with EA like you need).

Here you have to create a Rule to change the Quantity and Unit from the 2nd Material according to the GT “ProductUnitConversionFactor”.
